The Team Behind Adda and Dhamaka Is Opening Its First Brooklyn Restaurant
The team behind Adda and Rahi plan to open another Masalawala in Brooklyn
On the heels of their highly anticipated opening of Dhamaka, restaurateur Roni Mazumdar and chef Chintan Pandyal have plans to open another location of the Masalawala in Brooklyn this fall, the Commercial Observer first reported late last week.
The duo’s restaurant group, Unapologetic Foods, signed a 10-year lease for a 2,500-square-foot space in Park Slope, at 365 Fifth Avenue, and Masalawala is scheduled to open in September, according to the Observer’s report. It will be the third location of the well-liked Indian restaurant, which first opened on the Lower East Side in 2011 and focussed on South Asian street food.
Masalawala, a precursor to acclaimed Long Island City restaurant Adda and Rahi in Greenwich Village, will break ground as the restaurant group’s first Brooklyn establishment.
